The University of Minnesota RSEC program was a five-year
NSF funding program designed to assist chemistry faculty at primarily
undergraduate institutions with financial
support for new research collaborations with Twin Cities
chemistry faculty. Support included expenses associated with
supplies, instrument use, salary, student stipends and travel funding
to regional and national meetings. We also provided technology initiatives, including an Internet
seminar program, the RSEC Lecture Series, that
uses streaming video
technology to deliver an annual series of seminars by internationally
prominent scientists. We also provided access to our
libraries and other chemistry-related information resources and
hosted several national and regional gatherings concerning
undergraduate chemistry education. RSEC has provided funding and
other assistance to nearly 70 professors and 35 undergraduate
chemistry students at 18 different institutions. For Questions or Comments
