Microscopy Camp Cheer
We exploded things and made some goo,
We had fun, how 'bout you?
We had pizza and subs for lunch,
Chips, drinks, and yummy things to munch!
We mixed and boiled and bubbled and brewed,
We made fire, and it turned blue!
We looked at bugs under a microscope,
We learned new things and made stuff too!
We looked at a microscope that magnifies a million,
We had fun, TIMES A ZILLION!
--Jenny, Maggie, and Grace

Why: To make and look at nanoparticles (we made magnetite, which is a magnetic iron oxide), to use light and electron microscopes (we looked at bugs, sand, shells, salt, and our nanoparticles), and to learn about science-related careers.

What else did we do? We made slime and a methanol rocket. We exploded balloons filled with hydrogen and oxygen. Interested? Look for Microscopy Camp 2006!!!
