Rachel Gabor, M.S. 2005

Rachel was a graduate student in our group 2004-2005. She earned her Masters in December of 2005. She is currently working in the Americorps program, doing great works in Louisiana (last we heard). Her project examined the chemical reactivity of doped magnetite nanoparticles.

Dave Jordan worked with Dr. Sara Isley on the synthesis and characterization of titanium dioxide nanoparticles.Their work resulted in a publication in the Journal of Physical Chemistry C. Dave is going to Northwestern University for graduate school in the fall of 2008. Congratulations Dave!

Matt Hofer worked with Jasmine Erbs on the reactivity of iron oxide nanoparticles.

Kari Tanaka worked with Jasmine Erbs, and her project examined the size dependence of the kinetics of oriented aggregation. She was a co-author on a paper that appeared in the Journal of Crystal Growth in 2007.

Danny Vereen was a summer student - sponsored by the IGERT for Nanoparticle Science and Engineering - who worked with Dr. Sara Isley on the synthesis and characterization of titanium dioxide nanoparticles. He performed many of the syntheses that would later lay a strong foundation for her dissertation work. He is currently at NAVAIR in Lexington Park, MD.

Spencer Ladd worked in our group during the 2001-2002 academic year. 

He subsequently enrolled in the University of Minnesotas Master of Education/Initial Licensure Program. Now, he teaches high school science!

His project laid some of the groundwork for our educational transmission electron microscopy project for middle-school-aged students.
