We work at the interfaces of analytical, physical, materials, and biological chemistry, exploiting electrochemical and spectroscopic techniques to achieve dynamic molecular information. The systems we study range from neurons to soil to nanostructures.

Haynes lab Lando NSF REU student, Ivan Lenov wins second place in the MRSEC/YCC poster session. His poster details the work he did during summer 2009 in collaboration with Kyle and Nate.

Secil Koseoglu joins the Haynes Lab as a doctoral student. Secil will collaborate with Shencheng initially and work to integrate single platelet measurements into the immune system-on-a-chip platform.

Christy is one of many co-authors of an educational article accepted by the Journal of Chemical Education aiming to teach high school students about scanning probe microscopy. The activity is titled "Coffee Cup Atomic Force Microscopy" and is based on work done while Christy was a graduate student at Northwestern University.

Shencheng has been named a 2009-2010 University of Minnesota Doctoral Dissertation Fellow. This award "is intended to enable Ph.D. candidates of particular promise to devote full-time effort to the research and writing of the dissertation during 2009-10".
