YES, It is this Friday! The Instructor is giving a talk, in Zurich, at the symposium

celebrating Albert Hofmann's 100th Birthday!

Read the NYT article.

         The exam only covers chapter 1-2. For Chapter 2, it only

                covers up to "Intermolecular Forces".

        Statistics of First Exam: Average = 117 points (out of 150); It's great, class, almost an A-performance!

                                                        Lowest = 12 pts, Highest = 149 pts.

                 Chater 7: sections 7-1 through 7-11 will be on the test.

                 Chater 8: sections 8-1 through 8-13 will be on the test.

What NOT covered in the test:

                 Sections 8-14 through 8-16 (oxidation by KMnO4 and ozonolysis) will NOT be on the test.
