2002 ACS Great Lakes Regional Industrial Innovation Awards

The Great Lakes Regional Industrial Innovation Awards celebrate the succussful innovations of the Great Lakes Region's industries. These awards are given to individuals whose creative innovations have contributed to the commercial success of their companies and, consequently, to the good of the communities.

Dr. Dharma Kodali and Mr. Scott Nivens of Cargill, Inc. have been selected as honorees for their work in modifying the chemical structure of vegetable oils to imporve their oxidative stability and low temperature fluidity.

A research team from Abbott Laboratories represented by Dr. Eric J. Stoner are being honored for the development of a process for the commercial production of a common intermediate for HIV-1 protease inhibitors Ritonavir and Lopinavir, and an optimized comemercial process for the production of Lopinavir.
