NOM Research
Hero Gollany is interested in biogeochemical processes that influence carbon cycling. Dr. Gollany's research has focused on transformation, bioavailability and fate of organic wastes in soil, rhizosphere (soil-root interface), surface and ground water. Her particular NOM interest is organic matter and metal binding to soil particles and formation of soil aggregates, which is important in understanding processes such as C sequestration and soil degradation (erosion).
