On behalf of the Symposium
Organizing Committee and the Chemical Biology Initiative (CBI) at the
University of Minnesota, we would like to invite you to participate in the
5th Annual NIH training grant symposium and CBI kickoff event.
Entitled "Chemical Biology: An Interdisciplinary Approach," this
year's symposium will be Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at the Earle Brown Center on
the St. Paul campus.
For the second year, this day of
science is organized by graduate students that are funded by NIH training
grants. Our goal has been to provide a unique opportunity for graduate
students to interact with distinguished scientists spanning multiple
disciplines. This year, we are expanding our symposium as we join with
the new campus-wide initiative, CBI. Together, we hope the symposium
will stimulate and encourage interdisciplinary research, technological
development, collaboration and education at the crossroads of chemistry,
biology, physics and engineering at the University of Minnesota and Twin
Cities' companies.
The day of talks will focus on
three areas: Chemical Genetics, Biomaterials Engineering and
Biotechnology. Four speakers from around the country and three
University or Minnesota professors will present their latest research.
In the middle of the day, graduate students and post-doctoral associates
will showcase their work in a poster session. The day culminates with
a banquet, at Coffman Memorial Union on the Minneapolis East Bank campus.
We hope that you might join us
for this exciting symposium on May 25. Available
below, you will find an Industry Registration Form, if you wish to attend,
and an Industry Gift Form, if you wish to make a donation to the event.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
