Doris Berg passed
away February 5, 2003, at the age of 86 as the result of a stroke. Doris
was a Senior Secretary in the Department of Chemistry from September
of 1959 until her retirement in October of 1983. She worked with several
faculty during her tenure in our department, including Wayland Noland,
Bill Parham, Gary Gray, Larry Miller, and Lou Pignolet and was involved
in coordinating the Lando summer research program. Doris is survived
by two sons, a daughter-in-law, and one granddaughter. One of Doris'
sons, Vince, was an employee in our research stockroom in 1972/73.
I
would like to hear from others who studied with Rufus Lumry in '56-'62.
