12th Annual Chemistry Graduate Student

Research Symposium

June 4, 2013

University of Minnesota
Minneapolis, Minnesota

About the Conference

The 12th annual Chemistry Graduate Student Symposium is being held June 4, 2013 in the Kenneth H. Keller Hall (Formerly EE/CSci) on the University of Minnesota's Minneapolis campus.  The symposium primarily consists of research presentations by third-year graduate students in the Chemistry Ph.D. program. Presentations will take place in four concurrent sessions and be 20 minutes in length with an additional 5 - 8minutes reserved for discussion.  All presentations will be formally assessed by a committee of faculty members and distinguished UMN alumni. Through a generous donation to the Department, travel awards will be presented to those individuals judged to have given the best seminar in each of the five sessions. Written feedback will also be provided to all presenters.  Additional information about the format of the abstracts and presentations is available.

It is the intent of the faculty that full attendance by all departmental faculty and students will be a high priority. We anticipate a full day of lectures interspersed by sponsored coffee breaks and lunch.

Conference Site

The symposium will be held in Kenneth H. Keller Hall (Formerly EE/CSci) on the University of Minnesota’s Minneapolis Campus. The EE/CSci Building is centrally located and within walking distance from the Chemistry Department, the Radisson Metrodome Hotel and Coffman Memorial Union. Parking is available at the Washington Ave. Ramp, next to the EE/CSci Building.
